About the Role

The Senior IT Technician will install, replace, or de-install routers/switches/access points or other hardware for various clients. The Sr. IT Technician will occasionally install, replace, or de-install laptops, desktops, printers or other hardware for various clients. They will observe and diagnose issues with desktops, laptops, servers, and network equipment to remedy hardware and software issues and perform site surveys as needed for future work for clients.

The technician should be familiar with cable management on existing cable, running new cable, and performing repairs on CAT5e/CAT6/CAT6A cable as needed in addition to performing cable terminations on new cable as needed. The technician may be required to provide remote access or console access and perform smart hands functions using TeamViewer, AnyDesk, GoToMeeting or other software as requested by the client. The technician should possess the ability to perform hardware troubleshooting and testing for various types of IT equipment, software troubleshooting, testing for various operating systems and applications, assist with employee coverage, scheduling, and training for junior level technicians as needed.

Requirements

We are seeking part-time Senior IT technicians to join our company. You will collaborate with other information technology professionals to provide onsite support, installation services, and other IT related tasks. As a Senior IT technician, you can put your passion for IT services to work by supporting our many clients. Associate’s degree or higher in an IT-related field such as computer science, technical support, and information technology is highly preferred and/or at least 3 - 5 years of experience. The individual should posses the qualities below:


  • Have an understanding of programs such as Active Directory/Microsoft Applications, Microsoft PowerShell or similar command line application, Windows/Server OS's, Linux OS’s


  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in computer networks solutions, operating systems, or other IT-related positions


  • Have the ability to use hand tools, power tools, and network testing equipment


  • Understanding of which tools are needed to complete jobs


  • Familiarity with command-line and terminal access preferred


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills


  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills


  • Time management and organizational skills


  • CompTIA A+ certification preferred


  • CompTIA Network+ certification preferred


  • Have basic understanding of IT principles, standards, and practices


  • Have the ability to work with their hands and lift more than 15lbs


  • Have the ability to transport and secure tools needed to complete jobs


  • Can pass a background check and drug screening


  • Have reliable transportation to and from job sites as this position supports multiple sites. Travel between locations will be required. Applicants must have a valid South Carolina driver’s license and evidence of insurance.
